CMBAA General Meeting Minutes



Meeting called to order at   8:56  p.m.




1. President's Report: 

CMBAA membership dues have been increasing.


Reminder that the separate Facebook pages are being consolidated into a single page at the end of January 2018.

Currently reviewing venues for the Bowling Fundraiser with a tentative date in March.


Reminder that elections will be held this year for the positions of President and Secretary. Additional discussion of potential Band Historian/Archivist position(s).


2. Vice President's Report: 

Discussion of online survey for which types of CMBAA apparel items might be created and sold as a fundraiser.


Received no response from Blaze Pizza regarding potential fundraiser.


Discussion of additional potential fundraisers, including Panera Bread, California Pizza Kitchen, and a wine tasting event possibly in April.


Paint and Wine "Bubbly Brunch" fundraiser finalized for Saturday, February 24, 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Pinot's Palette, 510 Franklin Ave., Nutley. The cost is $40 per painter, BYOB, and the CMBAA will receive $15 back from each registrant.


3. Treasurer's Report (submitted in absentia, relayed at meeting by the President): 

Concert income:  $705

Membership dues:  $720

Received a combined total of $1,000 from two anonymous donors.

Thanks extended to donors.

Donated $1,200 to the Band Parent Association to help defray cost of CMB Quebec trip.

Paid $200 for P.O. box rental.


Current CCB balance:              $3,317.02

Current CMBAA balance:        $13,978.61

Current Total balance:              $17,295.63


4. Chair of the CMBAA By-laws Committee reports that the Committee is in the process of reviewing the current By-laws for potential changes.





Discussion of potential CMB 80th Anniversary celebration. Call for people interested in being involved with its organization.
